I have been battling my laundry stains for years now. After I learned about all the chemicals and toxins in store-bought stain removers, I swore them off forever. What followed was a trial-and-error process of researching natural stain removers, trying them out, and being disappointed. Either the so-called green stain removers did not work, or I found them to be just as toxic as the other ones.
I finally gave up, and stopped using stain remover, altogether. However, this only led to more shopping, since the stains remained on the clothes, and, ultimately, I had to throw some pieces away. Realizing that I can’t afford to constantly replace my family’s wardrobe, I set out to find an easy, affordable, and proven-to-work homemade stain remover.
I stumbled upon a recipe created by Wellness Mama, which is so easy to make, I already had all the ingredients at home.
Homemade Stain Remover Recipe
* 2 parts water
* 1 part hydrogen peroxide
* 1 part baking soda
1. Mix all ingredients in a dark spray bottle (can be found at the dollar store)
2. Use to pre-treat stains before washing, or pour one cup of the solution into the laundry and let soak for 30 minutes.
In fact, this solution is so safe and non-toxic, you can whiten your teeth with it!
